Gilroy Gardens - Family friendly

Wow, I really didn't expect such a nice place. Gilroy Gardens, formerly known as Bonfante Gardens, was really a wonderful place for a family outing.  It's a very family friendly place,  that feels like what I imagine Disney felt like in the early days.  Just good clean wholesome fun.

Beacon Rock Trail - Columbia River Gorge

This cool trail to the top of Beacon Rock is just upriver in the Columbia River Gorge from Portland on the Washington side. We had just been driving by and happened to see a trailhead parking for this large rock outcrop towering over the Columbia river. We had no idea of the coolnes to come. This short trail makes its way to the top via a series of ramps and stairs carved and attached into the side of this rock formation.
